1/26: Watched video by Lawrence Krauss on Life, Universe, and Nothing.1/27: Finished the video and discussed the dvds and the video. Tomorrow, handout the Cosmology Take Home Exam and the prelab for the Periodic Table lab, as well as start chapter 8.
1/28: Handed out Cosmology take home exam and prelab and discussed both. Exam is due 2/4 and the lab is due 2/5.

February 2 - February 6

2/4: Started chapter 9 on bonding, covering types of bonds and Lewis theory of bonding.

2/25: Started chapter 13 by discussing experimentally determined reaction rates and showed how to determine average rates from graphs of change in reactant and product concentration over time. Continue with chapter 13 tomorrow.
2/26: Discussed instantaneous rates and methods of analyzing product formation, including polarimetry, spectrophotometry, gravimetric analysis, gas chromatography, and titrations.
2/27: Discussed the rate law and zero, first, and second order reactions and how to determine the order of a reaction.
